Poetry
Poetry is something that I have taken up recently and only do on the side. I was so inspired by the short film A Man In The Woods that I decided to look into doing slang poetry myself. My first slang poetry I wrote, Scrolling, I incorporated it, at first, into a script for a short film I intended to shoot before the 2020 pandemic hit, then I turned it into a short story and in the past couple of months I pulled out the raw poem from the depths of the story and gave it its own breath of life. It's a poem very close to me as it touches heavily upon feelings and experiences that I explored during my depression, and whilst I didn't fall as far as my character Daisy did in the poem, I have often wondered where I would be if I had let the monsters get inside my head. I think this poem that reflects a descent into insanity shows the place I might have been had I not found a way back.

I furthered my slam poetry for one of the Vocal competitions where we had to write a poem about the colour that made us who we are. So, my poem An Empath's Colour explored what it means to be a canvas to other people's emotions and feelings. Even though I didn't win, I was selected as one of the finalists.
Slam poetry is something that has deeply touched me and I thoroughly enjoy writing and performing.

I also wrote a short cheeky poem about a year ago entitled What Makes the Perfect Home for a Cat that I wrote in support of Cat's Protection when they put that question out there to their viewers. I was inspired and decided to write a short poem instead.
