The Descent
Creating the Film
The film was created for the EIFF's Youth Film competition in 2017 (18 years old). The project consisted of us being allocated a scientific project from one of the scientist researchers who visited us at the beginning of the week as our topic for our 10 minute film. The genre, style and production was all up to our team.
My team consisted of a group of very creative and talented individuals, however at the time, I was the only one who knew anything about film production. As such I had to take the reigns as writer, director, actor and editor. In addition, we had very limited filming equipment, shooting the entire film on my SLR camera with one extra mic and a clapper board.
It was a huge struggle for the team having to create an entire production in only one week, but having our work screened in Cineworld, Fountainpark was worth every step we took. This is an example of some of my much earlier work.

Born with a rare disease that causes everything she touches to wither and die, a high school girl lives through the challenges of having to conceal her dangerous ability, one that higher authorities believe could be hiding a cure for cancer. However, when she inadvertedly leaves her gloves behind one day she unleashes a wave of destruction in her wake and she must confront a fate that was written for her long before she was born.
